Fontan School was the first educational innovation recognized as such by the Ministry of National Education in 1985.
Since it was founded, the school has always remained in the range of highest scores of the ICFES exam (exam administered by the Government prior to graduation). For example, in 2014, the school ranked 29th nationwide, 3rd in Antioquia and 1st in Envigado for Calendar A (school year from January to November).
In 2016, according to the National Ministry of Education’s ISCE (an index that measures the quality of education), the school ranked 1st in Envigado, 5th in Antioquia and 42nd in Colombia for grades 10 and 11 among over 12,000 schools.
In 2009, the school ranked 1st in “Olimpiadas del Conocimiento” (Knowledge Olympics), and in 2012, it ranked 2nd in Valle del Aburra.
In the 2012 Talentos Diners’ musical performance contest, the school took first place.
The school won first place in the interschool short story contest held by the art school Debora Arango in the children’s category and teenagers’ category. It also won in painting in the teenagers’ category and took second place in the children’s category.
The school took second and third place in the interschool mathematics contest held by Colegio Theodoro Hertzl in 2014.
There are many other achievements in sports and art that make us very proud. However, what we feel most proud of is shaping autonomous, responsible beings who are prepared for deep and meaningful learning for the rest of their lives.
